BILL REVIEW
Utilizing state of the art technology that is flexible and scaleable, OHARA offers Bill Review services that assure cost containment and superior savings. The efficient workflow, trained personnel, and deep network penetration in each state results in a 5-15 % savings beyond the competition.

PEER REVIEW
OHARA utilizes ‘like’ specialists as peers of attending medical providers on individual claims. This can help claims handlers have confidence in current treatment plans and eliminate inappropriate treatments, thus reducing claim costs.

JOB SITE ANALYSIS
OHARA has ‘best in class’ experts available to perform ergonomic assessments of work sites. Prevention of initial injury is the most cost effective form of controlling workers’ compensation costs.

LIFE CARE PLANNING
The Life Care Plan is a tool used for estimating costs of medical services and needs associated with catastrophic illnesses and injuries. This projected analysis addresses the medical needs of the patient, the cost and frequency of required services, and the predicted expenses associated with this care over an estimated life span. This plan can be used by attorneys for establishing settlements and insurance companies for setting reserves. Families and courts can utilize Life Care Planning to establish trusts to ensure the future needs of family members are met.

SECOND MEDICAL OPINION
Many times a diagnosis or treatment can be clarified by obtaining a qualified Second Medical Opinion from a qualified practitioner. OHARA has in depth knowledge of providers in our service areas who will assure that a quality exam will be obtained clarifying any claim questions.

ON-SITE CASE MANAGEMENT
Approximately 30% of all lost time injuries will benefit from an On-Site Case Managers involvement. OHARA has experienced case managers who are adept at managing injured workers, coordinating cost effective medical care and promoting early, safe return to work.

VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION
Vocational Services can be provided to injured employees who are unable to return to their original job. Our specialist can assess the claimant’s abilities and local job market.

PHARMACY BENEFITS PROGRAM
Pharmaceutical costs continue to skyrocket as a percentage of healthcare costs. Pharmacy costs now represent over 15 % of the national healthcare budget and remain the fastest growing cost component of medical care. TELEPHONIC CASE MANAGEMENT
OHARA utilizes URAC Accredited processes to help control and reduce costs associated with inpatient and outpatient procedures. Guided by nationally recognized treatment guidelines, OHARA monitors the medical necessity of hospital stays and procedures.

CATASTROPHIC CASE MANAGEMENT
At times when an injury is severe, OHARA will provide catastrophic case management to insure optimal treatment and recovery. Our goal is to assure that the claimant receives the medical care and long term vocational planning early in the file history.

HIGH RISK PREGNANCY MANAGEMENT
This service identifies expectant mothers who are considered to be at high-risk and allows early intervention by the case manager. Our staff will follow and monitor the progression of the pregnancy. Our staff is able to offer assistance and knowledge when appropriate, and provide literature concerning the delivery of a healthy baby.

INTEGRATED DISABILITY MANAGEMENT
Employers in the past have ignored the costs of medical absence and concentrate only on workers’ compensation absenteeism. OHARA will evaluate and manage absence no matter what the cause. Significant savings can be achieved by an employer who integrates a program to manage disability whether the cause is occupational or non-occupational.

OSHA & ADA COMPLIANCE CONSULTATION

OHARA’s Products and Services as listed above are available in our service states with the exception of Minnesota pursuant to Minn. Stat. 176.102. In Minnesota, OHARA only provides rehabilitation services and limited disability case management consistent with Minnesota law.
